Bear and his brother, Mr. Fluffy, came to us in May 1995 from the Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury ( http://www.buddydoghs.com/ ). We had gone there to find a replacement for our previous cat, Fluff. We had intended to get one cat; but our daughters liked different cats - so we began to consider getting 2 cats. One of the two cats that they liked did not like us - scratching us when we were petting him. So we kept looking and one of the volunteers showed us two brothers who had been dropped off with the request that they be kept together in their new home - so Bear and Mr. Fluffy joined our family.
Bear was the alpha cat of the 2 brothers. You can see in the photo that he has his catnip mouse as well as his brother's catnip mouse. He didn't share well - except sharing his brother's food. Bear became a very large cat - eventually topping 20 pounds.
He loved people - particularly Jeannie. He was a great lap cat, and he loved to snuggle with Jeannie whenever he could.
He was a part of our family for 12 years; and we miss him very much.
